Ben Harper Tickets – New Album Called “give Till It’s Gone”
Give Till It’s Gone is the upcoming album by Ben Harper and Relentless7 and according to Rolling Stone, they have just wrapped up their recording sessions. Fans, however, will have to wait patiently as it will not be issued until sometime this fall. Rolling Stone offers some juicy tidbits to set all fans’ hearts aflutter, quoting Harper himself: “Not only are we excited about the songs, but Ringo Starr is playing on one of the songs and that’s just a huge deal for us. And Jackson Browne is singing in the background on one of the songs.” Just a little star power pumped into the tracklist is all…as if Harper needs any extra assistance in that department. Although the album isn’t going to appear for several months, some song titles have already been released including the ballads “Still in Faith,” “Don’t Give Up on Me Now” and “I Will Not Be Broken.” According to Rolling Stone, the entire set was recorded at Groove Master Studios in Santa Monica and the finishing touches still have to be made with the current lineup of Harper, Jason Mozersky, Jordan Richardson and Jesse Ingalls.
The group released their last effort White Lies for Dark Times in 2009, and since then have been appearing regularly at various shows and music festivals. Most recently they announced they will step onstage at the Santa Cruz Blues Festival on May 29 along with Taj Mahal, Joseph Arthur and Eric Lindell; the festivals’ following day will see the likes of Buddy Guy, the Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, Eric Burdon & the Animals and Coco Montoya.
Ben Harper has been on the music scene longer than you may think. The funky-soul balladeer released his debut album, Welcome to the Cruel World, in 1994 to rave reviews. The song “How Many Miles Must We March” stands out as one of the more popular tracks, as do “Breakin’ Down” and “Waiting on an Angel.”
Harper has been busy since then; he wasted no time in releasing his sophomore effort Fight for Your Mind, followed briskly by his third, The Will to Live. Harper’s significance in the industry really shot up with the release of 1999’s Burn to Shine, which featured “Steal My Kisses” and “Suzie Blue.” He accompanied the Dave Matthews Band on tour, greatly expanding his fan base around the world. Follow-up albums included Diamonds on the Inside, There Will Be a Light and Both Sides of the Gun. Ben Harper and Relentless 7 also recently released the live set, Live at Montreal International Jazz Festival in early 2010.
For now, everyone will have to sit tight for the anticipated arrival of the new record, although judging from Harper’s past releases, it looks to be another must-have CD to add to the collection. Get your Ben Harper tickets today and enjoy a live show when he next books a show near you!
