What has happened to music from African American artists?
When I think about my favorite music from African American artists I think about John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy. I think about Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Lynelle Richie. I use to think that black musicians have natural talent, like it was in their blood.
But now, with 50 cent and Lil Wayne and T.I. I wonder, what happened? Why are so many black artists more concerned with making money than making music?
I must admit that Rap music sounds like s**t and this is a different African American Crowd there are still some good R&B artists like Brian McKnight and others, but they aren’t getting noticed as much
