If a runaway teen who has been reported is found by the police then how is he/she transported back home?
Assume the kid is states away. Do they even detain you if you don’t want to go home? are you driven back or do the parents come and get the child. what if they can’t or don’t want too? You’re not committing a crime so why are they aloud to detain you?
I’m not planning on running away. I’m almost 18 anyway. I’m just asking because of some kids I know and neither of them can get professional answers from lawyers.
The minor will be detained in state where he is arrested. He will remain in that state’s juvenile hall until someone from his county’s juvenile probation can fly to arrest him there, and fly him back to his original county where he will remain in that juvenile hall until the matter is resolved by the juvenile justice system. I’ve seen it done several times as a nurse in a county juvenile detention facility.
