??? Help RPM???
An exercise bike that sell on the site has a bicycle chain connecting the wheel to sell to the large front wheel. The photo shows the "pedal height of the wheels" to be 8 inches, is connected with a string to the axis of the bicycle wheel, which has a diameter of 3inch. The wheel diameter is 24 inches around. (hope that all makes sense) The question is: For the diameter of the wheels is shown, how many rpm due to produce in turn the great wheel to 90.0 rpm? Thank you.
Since we're talking about here angular velocity [nonlinear], the large wheel diameter in irrelevant. The foot wheel height is 8 inches, and the axis of the bicycle wheel has a diameter of 3 inches. This means that every time you do a representative of the pedal the wheel, the front wheel must move 8 / 3 = 2.6666 … times. For 90.0 rpm for the front wheel, just spin the wheel pedal 90/2.6666 = 33.75 rpm. It seems that there is only 1 significant figure … so I guess that 30 rpm is technically the more accurate answer can be given.
