If I had power, I'd like to rename the new Soundside CD of "Seconds to Sunrise" to "Soundside work of man. "No, not as some kind of tribute to the Grateful Dead or their album of the same name, but because in today's music scene segment dominated by pop generic suburban, rap ring tone real and sham ghettos, and indie rock hipster for college education, there is a definite shortage of honest rock and roll good. The rock type is achieved through a day of loading boxes or pallets in house paint. Rock for the unpretentious rock for people who work in delis or hang the sheet. Soundside brings back the sound old school rock – hard but not metal, melodic, but not Justin Timberlake, and with a touch of grunge, minus the angst tortured.
If this Seconds to Sunrise had come out twenty years before, had been hailed as the new gods of power pop or new wave through Cheap Trick. In other words, is full of hard rock hooks, pop sensibility and a Pogo-beat rhythms along with sensitive moments, locked, acoustic guitar-laced. "Back Until the beginning "kicks things with a friendly Radio Two chord rock anthem that has a danceable groove, on which he sings longingly Rich Arcati party all night fun: "I remember the time we have done, has been a while, but how could I forget … which reminds you when we get home? / It's just other morning that I wake up … Back to the top of our lives. "The music here is kick ass rock and roll, rhythm and bass and cool guitar tapping all marks on the right.
"With You" begins softly with acoustic guitar and voice. When the rest of the band enters it in a less intense musical background, mixing the emotional sincerity of a driving ballad and rock. This and most of the CD are transported by Arcati front man, with his combination of vocal Eddie Vedder and Robert Plant (in his shrill less), and guitarist Dan Reardon. "Living in the Rain" reverses the script in the classic rock song soft to hard, giving a burst of heavy metals an introduction followed by acoustic guitar and low voice volume. This leads to a melodic section, country rock with shades that fit between Sheryl Crow and Nickelback in a VH1 set. The piece on the CD is "Beautiful Life", a live rock ballad with touches of violin and cello and piano, a simple riff that underlines the vocal line.
"Creepin 'In My Mind" is another example of the total intensity in the rock, with a groove heavy, guitar driven directly from the old city of Detroit rock sound of Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop This song and others in this filler CD free, is locked, and powered by Karina McMahon and Matt Fox on drums and bass, respectively. "Stuck In A Memory" rocks in a hard rock strides, almost waltz headbanging nods to Led Zeppelin. This changes in a power pop chorus that is both gentle and wild, but tasteful and true. In fact, this could be said of whole seconds until dawn. Soundside based the source of the guitar driven, kick-out-the-rock jams, giving the listener the musical equivalent of a day's honest work for honest pay for bread. Make no bones about turns, is definitely Soundside maximum rock and roll.
